Under the black where the sky used to breathe
The world forgot what the daylight used to be
Whispers in the dark say it wasn’t fate
It was the jaws that opened wide and sealed our fate
He slid from the river with scales like broken glass
Eyes like burning coals that never blinked, never passed
No warning, no prayer, no time to run or hide
He snapped the sun from the sky and swallowed it whole inside

Now the sun is gone, dig its grave in the mud
We’re walking blind through the cold and the flood
The crocodile king, he owns every shadow and lie
We live under teeth till the day we all die

They say he dreamed of darkness long before he came
A hunger older than the earth, deeper than any flame
Every bite was a promise to erase the light
Now his belly glows faint red in the endless night
Children stop asking when the morning will return
They’ve learned to love the cold, to let the fear burn
Rivers run black with the taste of what we lost
And the crocodile laughs when the wind turns into frost

Shhh… listen close… you can hear him chew

Just the rhythm of his heart beating like a warning mark
